W.W.T.P. Cleaning Project

Tank Cleaning in South Jersey

Recently, our team at GE Mechanical completed a successful tank cleaning in South Jersey at a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This project involved the thorough cleaning of the aeration tank, settling tank, and digester tank. The primary goal of this project was to remove approximately 150 tons of accumulated sludge, debris, sediment, and grit from the tanks. Additionally, we aimed to clean the tank walls and floors to prepare them for a scheduled painting project.

Our experienced team of four technicians utilized a variety of specialized equipment to efficiently complete the project. This equipment included:

  • Vactor Truck: This powerful truck was instrumental in removing large volumes of sludge and debris from the tanks.
  • 3 Pump Trucks: These trucks were used to transfer the sludge and debris to appropriate disposal sites.
  • Pressure Washing Equipment: High-pressure water was used to clean the tank walls and floors, removing any remaining residue.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Our team prioritized safety by wearing appropriate PPE throughout the project.

The entire project was completed in just four days, minimizing disruption to the WWTP’s operations. By the end of the project, the tanks were clean and ready for the scheduled painting.
